Mrs. Henderson Mitchel began working for (LAUSD) Los Angeles Unified School District in 1972, after graduating from Los Angeles High School, she studied Child Development and Early Childhood Education at Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Trade Tech. College.
Her whole educational career with the district was at the same location where Mrs. Henderson-Mitchell helped shape young minds, by developing and maintaining, written plans for the orientation, continuing education, and on-the-job training programs for new Teachers and Teachers Aids.
Mrs. Henderson-Mitchell supervised and evaluated the childcare program keeping it within the limits and guidelines, functions and policies established by the district, and was responsible for daily observation of children’s health issues and any signs of physical abuse.
Mrs. Henderson-Mitchell reviewed reports and handled complaints made by children or their authorized representative(s), and made recommendations to address identified issues to the school.
After 44 years of service, Mrs. Henderson-Mitchell retired from the LAUSD in 2018 to become a partner with Principle Fire Solutions LLC, on her mission to establish our back-office strategy.
